Day 13- June 23rd

June 23th- Travel Day

Today would be our last day in Ireland. We had set our alarms to 7 AM so we didn’t run late, and we finished packing up all of our stuff. Our flight back West didn’t leave until 12:25, so we still had a few hours left. We went downstairs to get some free breakfast, and it was just as good as it had been the previous times that we had it.
After breakfast, we just hung around the hotel until 9:30, when we left for the airport. We made our way through security, and grabbed a few snacks from a convenience store that we passed. We hoped that the few bags of chips and candy would keep us entertained while we waited for our flight to arrive. While we waited, we ate our snacks and played on our phones. Luckily, we had all remembered to charge them the night before, so they were in little danger of dying, but we had made sure that our portable chargers were fully charged that morning just in case. The flight arrived on time and we boarded without issue to our seats. With our phones in hand, we prepared for the over seven hour flight home.
When the flight took off, we looked out the window to Dublin below us to say goodbye. We really had a great time in Ireland, and we definitely wouldn’t object to returning some other time. The Bloomsday festival, especially, was really fun, but we had a great time at all the other places we visited, too.
A little while through the flight, Joseph began to fall asleep. He wasn’t the only one though. Hannah and Hanna fell asleep soon after. Emily fell asleep a little after them. Leah hung out a little bit longer, but she soon succumbed to the fog of sleep.
Most of us woke up a little while before we arrived in Toronto. We stretched out as much as we could in our cramped seats in preparation for walking soon. The plane landed at around 2:45, and we were definitely ready to get some food. The snacks that we had bought in Dublin didn’t last us very long, since we had eaten almost all of them while waiting for our previous flight. We only had an hour and a half long layover, so we knew we couldn’t take too long for lunch. Because of that, we decided to go to Tim Horton’s like we did the last time we were in Canada. It was good food that didn’t take that long to eat, so it fit our requirements perfectly. We finished our food pretty fast since we were all so hungry, so we just went to our gate to wait for our next flight. We charged our phones with the nearby outlets while we waited, and just tried to not die of boredom.
Our flight finally arrived at 4:20PM, and we boarded, definitely ready to get back home to North Carolina. It took a little under two hours to get there, and we arrived back home at 6:15. After we passed through security and grabbed our bags, we said goodbye to each other and parted ways to our separate cars.
This vacations would be one that we would never forget.
